SCEC endorsement proves DORMA’s high security
DORMA is a world leader in door systems
technology, specializing in the design and
manufacture of automatic door solutions,
movable walls, door closers, locks, levers,
glass fittings and accessories. In 2006, DORMA
released the Australian-made EL301 automatic
sliding door operator, which has been purpose
designed for the Australasian market.
Australian designed and manufactured, the
DORMA EL301 and AL401 are the only SCECendorsed
automatic sliding door operators in
the Security Equipment Catalogue (SEC2006).
This powerful and reliable sliding door operator
controls three automatic glass airlock systems at
the main entrance of the Westpac headquarters,
providing safe access for the bank’s 5,000 staff
and its many visitors. Throughout the building,
EL301s have been installed in the company’s
cafes, meeting spaces and high-security areas.
Danny De Sousa, facility manager at Westpac
Place, highlights the importance of security
monitoring: “It’s critical that the secure areas –
where access is only permitted via a swipe card
– remain protected at all times. Basically, the
automatic door systems have to be completely
reliable, which DORMA’s products have proved
to be since being installed nearly two years ago.”
DORMA’s airlock systems are an effective way
to minimize climate disturbance, ensuring the
elements – heat, wind and rain – don’t disturb
the internal environment and temperature.
