A proud history of quality timber window and door craftsmanship
Miglas Australia is a family company that has been involved in timber window and door joinery since 1968 when Wally Miglas, the father of the existing owner, set up a timber window and door joinery in Box Hill in Victoria. The owner and designer of Miglas Australia, Anatol Miglas set up the current modern timber joinery in Montrose in 1985.
Custom designed for each project
Miglas is a custom designed and built window and door manufacturer using in-house CAD design to work closely with owners, builders, architects and designers to give the best performance and design for each project. Projects have ranged from homes to multistory commercial buildings.
Innovation and Energy Efficiency
Inspired by European and American energy efficient window design, Miglas was one of the first window companies to introduce quality double glazed windows and doors to Australia and manufactured the double glazed units to meet their demand for high quality and reliability.
The Miglas windows and doors have outstanding thermal efficiency and air infiltration performance making them a preferred product in alpine and energy efficient homes and buildings.
Quality materials and components
To compliment the quality design and manufacture the company has sought out quality components to give the high performance of the Miglas window and door suites; the seals and door locks are imported from Germany and Miglas uses only quality Truth Hardware from the USA. The timber frames and sashes use only kiln-dried hardwood for strength and dimensional stability. The aluminum is custom extruded to Miglas profile designs and powder-coated or anodized to specific client designs.
Continuous improvement culture
In line with the company philosophy of continuing improvement, Miglas introduced the AliClad design of an aluminum clad timber window in 1994. This gives the strength, excellent thermal performance and ascetic beauty of timber with a low maintenance exterior powder-coated aluminum cladding.
In 2004 Miglas invested in state of art computer controlled production equipment to give precision and production capacity to support the team of timber craftspeople.
Sustainable Raw Materials
Miglas uses sustainable Victorian Hardwood from Government controlled and harvested forests and recently, to meet specific demand, also can use FSC (Forest Stewardship Certification) imported hardwoods.
Miglas is reviewing 'chain of custody' certification to give a full FSC certified supply of windows and doors for designated projects..
Miglas recycles waste materials with the sawdust recycled in compost, the timber off cuts used for kindling and the aluminum recycled. |
