Specifying the Rw / STC
The Building Code of Australia currently requires Rw / STC of 45 for walls between living areas and Rw / STC 50 with impact Resistance for walls between occupancies where a kitchen or bathroom adjoin a living area or bedroom in an adjoining occupancy. These values are likely to increase to Rw / STC 50 and Rw / STC 55 in the next BCA amendment. (Australian Building Codes Board Regulation Document RD 2001/02.) |
